It’s a new year!

Started the new year crafting and painting. Thanking God for a new beginning as last year was one of the toughest I’ve ever had to face. As you can see from my blog posts I’ve not been around these parts. Lost my dad over the holidays and still not entirely myself. It’s been tough, but I’m blessed to have had lots of one on one time with him in his last days. Now I have an angel to watch over me.

I’m really hoping to dedicate more time to creating new artwork.

I have several new little paintings … Loosely based on Mexican loteria. A simple fun way for me to reconnect with my paints. Oh how I’ve missed them… Little by little I am on my way back.

long time no see…

Feels like forever since I’ve blogged or did anything really creative. I’ve been stuck in my own creative rut… mostly because “life” has taken precedence over my art life. This year has been one of personal growth, struggle, learning, forgiveness, healing, love and recovering from illness.

I’m not painting yet, but I am sketching. Here is a new sketch that I worked on last night… hoping I can translate it into a painting. What do you think? What does this say to you?
